ADVOCACY & OUTREACH RESOURCESAdvocacy is an important part of the school counseling profession and extends beyond legislation. School counselors advocate every day for their students, their programs, and the profession. Advocacy can include educating administrators and other stakeholders about the appropriate role of the school counselor, using data to demonstrate the impact of a comprehensive school counseling program, participating in advisory councils, communicating with school boards and community leaders, and working to remove barriers to student success. MSCA is committed to providing Michigan school counselors with resources to help advocate for students and the profession at the local, state, and national levels. |
